I just received my 580 EX II. The flash unit's mount, the part that goes into the hotshoe on the camera, has a slight "play"; it allows a small rotational movement. I first noticed this when I slid the flash into the camera.
Owners of the 580 EX II, is this normal ?- perhaps Canon built in a little movement to prevent damage if the flash bumped into something.
Since the flash is heavy, this slight movement is noticeable when it is on the camera.
