I have the f/2.8 non IS. the weight is not really an issue. it might be intimidating at first but it wouldn't break your arm at the end of the day. for me, i'll always choose the faster lens specially if you could afford it. its always better to have that extra stop. any of the 70-200 lens will give you a sharp, versatile, fast focusing lens. but the faster lens will give you a better background blur. whatever choice you end up, i'm sure you'll love the quality of the picture you'll get.
