Compatible lenses with canon EOS SLR Xti/ EOS 400D/ Rebel XTI

Canon EOS SLR XTI - Lenses which are compatible

Canon XTI is compatible with all EF, EF-S and EX-series Speedlites lenses, but I would like to mention some lenses that are most popular and best sellers, in the hope that it will help you make a choice. At least this way you should know what to look for.

And because price and performance varies a lot, I hope to cover all the needs with these lenses.

First pick : Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Super Wide Angle Lens

I was not sure if to go for 17-55 or 17-40, but because they are both quite expensive, I think L is recommended. Though, it depends a lot on your personal needs, based on the “what others are saying”, this lenses will not disappoint for sure. It lacks Image stabilization, indeed, but the price is relatively low and the image quality superb.

And if you don’t intend to go for a Full Frame camera, you will just love Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L.

Second pick : Canon EF 70-300mm with image stabilization

Though not a L lenses, Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens’ big advantage is Image Stabilization. Even though the 70-300 has a narrower aperture at most comparable focal lengths, the 3rd generation IS allows it to be handheld under lower light conditions - if the subject is stationary of course. Also advantageous is the extra 100mm of focal length range.

The Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens is targeted at amateur photographers. I think this group will find the 70-300 IS appealing.
