This might be news… Rumor has it Canon’s working on a new 800mm lens (it’s at least 2 years away from hitting the maket). The Canon rep. was at Canoga Camera yesterday and he told me that it’s going to be around the same size as the 600mm lens (which is about 5lbs. heavier than the 500mm lens), the proto-type has the lens at f5.6. I’m wondering what the price point will be and just how useful (or useless) this big gun will be?
