In Sweden, where I live, the rules are simple:

*You can take a picture of anything as long it's not military or private property

*You can not take pictures of classified objects.

i.e You can take picures of you neighbor through your window with a tele. It doesn't matter if he is naked! BUT there are laws restricting the use of the pictures, but taking pictures of people in the street is just fine. Even if they walk over to you and say that you can't you may still keep on shooting! The picture is yours when you press the shutter, and if you like you could stick a lens in someones face (as long you aren't touching them). No matter what people say you can let your memorycard fill up!

But when it comes to using the pictures it's an other thing, you aren't can't publish images in magazines (commercial use) without permisson from the model.

No one can take your camera from you or force you to delete the pictures because the pictures are yours.

And here's the kicker: The rules are the same if you are a professional or an amature!

Conclusion, You are free to shoot almost anything as long it's not for commercial use or is against an other law. Easy!
