Thanks Mawz, I have the old 105 micro which is why it think it's alot cheaper.
But I would think, regardless of the different designs, they're both designed to be portrait lenses, no? f2 can soften up a background pretty well.
CTA's example above could be a reason they included the "DC" in the newer AF models.
