Reply to Which new Canon DSLRs are weather proof and have metal bodies?

Blasphemy to say it here, but the Nikon d3 is going to be the way to go if you really want weatherproofing. Word is that thing is incredibly rugged -- my boss is getting one to supplement his 1dsIII for severe weather, despite having umpteen thousand dollars invested in Canon gear.



On the Canon side, yeah, the 40d is kinda sorta weatherized, but not actually fully sealed. The 1d series is pretty well sealed up, but you still need a sealed (L series) lens, as well. Much cheaper to invest in some plastic bags and rubber bands, if somewhat harder to shoot with.
