Reply to Canon rebates.

I've got the DG500 Super - it adds some extra things like an LCD screen and more settings.

The only real dissadvantage I've noticed is that the build quality isn't as nice as the canon ones, and it dropps out of high-speed sync mode when the shutter speed drops.

So say you're in Av or one of the auto modes, and you need a shutter speed higher than your x-sync speed (1/200 for the 3560D), you need to put the flash into high-speed sync mode. You then put the lens-cap on or aim the camera at the ground, and the shutter-speed momenterally dropps to under the x-sync speed. The flash will automatically cancel high-speed sync mode, and when you take the next photo the shutter speed is limited to 1/200 and you get an over-exposed image. I once had a whole series of shots ruined because of this. The canon flashes will stay in high-speed sync until you cancel it.

Believe it or not that alone is anoying enough for me to reccomend the more pricey canon versions.

The Super also has optical slave mode, which is nice - not sure about the 530DG. The canon doesn't have this.
