wow..thanks for the continued advice everyone.
at this point...i'm at the sig 24-70mm f/2.8 + nik 50mm f/1.8 option.
i do have a manfrotto tripod - havent looked at strobes yet.
i certainly wish i could buy nikkor glass....as i'm just an amateur enthusiast at present i'm quite limited financially but I have bought the d200 with an eye to making more of the hobby in terms of income so hopefully i'll be able to start using pro lenses in the near future
