Pretty much all consumer grade lenses have a plastic body, with the exception of the older lenses like the 35-70mm 2.8. The quality of the plastic has an effect on the price however. I personally don't know of any lenses made of a non glass material, nor would I ever consider using one.
And wait, how are you going to brag about getting a new lens, but not say how good or bad it is or post any example pics =)
