Reply to Lens with Macro Capabilities?

a D80 is not the best camera for manual lenses, so i would say the 60mm if you want a lens dedicated for macro.

you could however, just reverse your 50mm in front of your 70-300 extended to 300mm to get some ridiculous magnification. you will need some rock-solid support for this :)

btw, you don't lose quality with the extension tubes, as they just put some extra air between your lens and your sensor. you do lose quality with the 'macro filter kits' that screw into the front of the lens.
