i would go with choice number 1
the 18-55 kit lens is a very good range to learn with. you get a semi wide angle lens and a decent zoom. the IQ of the lens isnt horrible, but you wont have any complaints until youre shooting in low light.
the 50mm 1.8 on the other hand is an awesome lens. the 1.8 will be surprisingly fast to you.
i let my friend borrow my 50mm and she fell in love with it. now i have to stalk her down and ask for it back.
