Reply to Help Me Choose A Lens

Implying? Don't know about that -- You didn't ask for any sensible advice, your canvas is too broad. I might as well ask what sort of shoes I should buy.

"I'd like to shoot sports in poor light" "I want to shoot portraits" "I like to take landscapes but never feel like I get enough in the frame" "I want to take close-ups of flowers"

All of these and a lot more can be followed by "which lens should I buy?" but just asking which lens to buy next is going to get the usual no-thought responses - 18-200 and the 50 f1.8 - which may or may not be in any way useful to you - like the manual focus, no metering on a D80, Zeiss lenses.

If you want some Christmas advice - you seem pretty well covered in the lens department with everything except extreme wide-angle shots within your grasp. If you have a Sigma 28 f1.8 (I've never had my hands on that one) then the 50mm is NOT going to be much use to you - use the 28mm and possibly look for either a 60mm Micro Nikor or the 85mm f1.8 for portraits.

Not knowing you in any way - if you walked into a shop and asked me the same question - I'd steer you away from lenses and let you have a play with an SB600 or an SB800

At the end of the day - I'm only trying to save you from yourself - NAS is a terrible affliction and you're already showing the first terrible symptoms
