50/1.8 is one of the best lens to buy - and costs only $100 or so - and a must.



for best non-professional zoom lens, consider 18-70mm. it is considered the sharpest consumer zoom lens. Around the Bay Area, I've seen it advertised between $200-250 used on Craigslist.
