Reply to Panning with D80 and the 18-55 kit lens

This sort of shot is trial and error. The second is the better of the two because the subject has "pop". In both photos there is some subject blur. Are these the best of a sequence of photos or did you only take one of each?



One of the best ways to get a good panning shot is to mash the shutter and capture 4 to 8 images as quickly as possible, then pick the best one.
