To fill in more of the story, at the time I was going to school at the Hallmark Institute of Photography. Hallmark required that you assist at least two photographers by the end of the year. So I thought to myself, if I could assist anyone, who whould it be? It was a no brainer, Josh Letchworth and Joey Meddock.
Well Orlando (where they both are located) is a long way from Turners Falls, Massachusetts. I was determined though and I knew that come hell or high water I would find a way to get there and pray to God at least one of them would give me a chance. So I bought my plane ticket, fingers crossed, before I ever heard back from either one. Being broke, I couldn't afford a hotel so I crashed with my friends' mom in Deland which is about 45min-hr north of Orlando. To afford my rental car (which being under 25 years old wasn't cheap) I spent my first 30 mins in Orlando finding a grocery store where I bought a loaf of wonder bread and publix brand peanut butter, and grabbed some plastic silverware off the salad bar and called it a day. For that week I ate out of my car peanut butter sandwhiches. And it was totally worth it.
Eventually, I did get a hold of Joey. He let me tag along for the first few days of my stay which is when this picture was snapped. The second day I spent with Joey we went out to Clermont to shooot Ben Greenwood, Trevor Hanson, and a few other guys as well. Whipped out my lensbaby and got this shot.
Quote of the Day
"Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them."
