Resistance on lens mount

Hi



I got two primes and a Canon 400D (XTi). After some lens-swapping action during the past six months since I purchased the set, I have noticed that one of these lenses is giving me more and more resistance when mounting/unmounting. Also, some weeks ago I visited a local lens dealer and tried some of their lenses on their cameras: I noticed the same thing in there, only the effect was much more noticable!



My question is: Is it normal for surfaces of lens mounts/camera mounts to become 'rough' with use? Should I carefully apply small amounts of some sort of grease to these surfaces to keep them turning smoothly?



I have kept my equipment clean and been very careful with them! :)
