Well, it is possible. It's just the same problem that my eyes suffer, I cannot easily focus at infinity (or even beyond a couple of feet). This is because my eyes are "too long", and that the focus point lies in front of the retina. I can correct this using glasses.
The same goes for an adapter: It would have to include glass. This is possible, though, and some adapters like this exists. I'm not sure about the Minolta, but it is technically possible (although not preferable)
