(Didn't read the whole post) I recently bought an n6006 body with a Nikkor 35-105 AF on the *bay for $85. The lens has the "macro" feature which gets me w/in around 5 inches. It's not true 1:1, but the shots from my d50 look pretty cripsy. Also, when I sell the n6006 the net cost of the lens should be around $40-45...
