Sorry yes ment to put smaller app wider DOF also the closer the object you are focusing on, is to the front of the lens the smaller the depth of field. Extension tubes as apposed to converters would maybe be better for you anyway and no reduction in quality of photo because no extra glass, just need to use a smaller app f16 or so. If you go to The Canon Museum website it gives you charts of DoF for all their macro lenses.
