Yes, buy the lens hood. I have one for mine, and always use it. I use mone for in-door shoots a lot Ikids at the school I work at), and the location of ceiling lights etc means that is saves me a lot of hassle in in getting a good angle.
The screw-mount for the hood extends it out pretty far so you really have no worries about flare etc. Very cool investment if you ask me.
