Hockey action shots

ouwx104 posted a new topic:

I have recently taken an interest in shooting pictures of the local Jr. B hockey club, The Port Colborne Sailors, that I am a member of the excecutive for.

I have tried may different settings. some work better then others.

Using the AV setting and set it at 4 to 5.5 and I seem bright pictures but it seams that a lot are slightly blured. as I set the AV higher, the picures become darker.

Using the TV setting, with the speed set at 1/200 ish I seem to get my best pictures. If if I set it much highter the shots suck.

I have even used the sports setting, with little luck!

My white ballance is set to tungsten. I tried to set up a custom but it only made things worse.

Most of the time my ISO is set at 800

I am using a Tamron 70 - 300 lense on my body.

Any tips would be appriciated. Thanks in advance.
